I found a pretty good deal on an Aluminum case 915/61 option '12' transmission which is a factory ZF clutch pack LSD unit. Not sure what the lockup is, but it will surely be an upgrade over my magnesium case 61 tranny with the same gearset.

Valve adjustment and Powdercoated valve covers
Adjusted the valves (checked everything several times until I got them all perfect) and installed the valve covers.

The outside rocker panel on the passenger side was rough...several hours later we at least have something to work with.

Removed the sound deadening tar off the floor
As much complaining as I've heard about this, I just got after it with a craftsman scraper, a rubber mallet, some gloves, and a pair of safety goggles.
