Gutting the car, Sunroof removal, etc

Since the decision is made to make the car a complete racecar It's time to start gutting it out.

Removal of the sunroof was pretty straight forward. There are numerous instructions and how-to's on the web for the motor and door removal, but I wanted to give some shots of the removal of the spot-welded frame that is on the car. There are numerous spot welds and I used a step drill bit in some places and a spot-weld removing drill bit (via harbor freight) in others. A few of the sections also had to be cut with a grinder / cutoff tool. The trickiest ones are drill STRAIGHT UP where the sunroof is spot-welded to the roof. Be VERY careful with the spot-weld drill bit to not go all the way through the roof! I will be getting a sunroof delete panel from Fenn Lane and will be converting the car to a complete coupe.
